We had an impromptu ladies night at my house recently. What fun! Women are such interesting creatures, aren't we? Often, we lack confidence or strength to push through something in our own lives, but we will encourage and motivate another to work through a challenge. We sincerely believe in them; we know they can do it! But, for ourselves, we doubt and feel the weight of our past.
One such woman I know often feels as though she is "just a cleaning lady" who has made mistakes and been dumped on by those she trusted. When I look at her, I see a woman who has managed a successful business for 20 years or more while raising two wonderful sons (now adults). I see a woman who after a divorce went back to school to get her degree and manages her business while attending classes. I see a woman who makes friends easily because she cares and loves freely. She rarely (if ever) missed her son's activities when they were growing up and worked hard to help them accomplish their goals.
One of the most amazing things about this beautiful lady is she forgives even when it is most difficult. I am amazed at her confidence and trust in herself as she considers reconciliation with her ex-husband. This reconciliation means she must open her heart to a man who once pierced it. Not an easy thing to do.
She is so much more than what she sees and even more than what we all see. God has created a wonderful and amazing jewel in this woman. And....I can hear her now, "I don't see that."
Challenge for today: Do you know a woman who others see as a hero? Tell her, she probably has no idea.
